Job Context/Purpose
The purpose of the job is to work with the team responsible for propulsion system development, analysis and testing for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) primarily.
Team Responsibilities

System Definition: Define propulsion system requirements and specifications aligned with project objectives.

Modeling & Simulation: Develop and integrate dynamic mathematical models of propulsion components for simulation and analysis.

Propulsion Design: Perform propulsion system design and analysis from first principles.

Analysis Tools: Develop low- to high-fidelity analysis tools to support propulsion design decisions.

Dynamic Simulations: Conduct dynamic simulations of propulsion subsystems and overall system behavior.

Code & SOP Development: Develop analysis codes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for propulsion design workflows.

Testing & Validation: Design and execute propulsion tests, analyze results, and post-process test data for performance validation.

Technology Awareness: Stay updated on advancements in UAV propulsion technologies and industry trends through continuous research.
Technical Documentation

Prepare high-quality design, analysis, and test documentation, including:

Design and analysis reports

Test matrices
-
Detailed system and test setup diagrams

Additional Functions
-
Collaborate closely with aerodynamics, structures, and flight teams to capture system inputs and outputs.

Support the flight team in making adjustments to ensure safe, efficient, and optimized flight operations.
Managerial Responsibilities

Coordinate project schedules, deliverables, and resources to ensure timely milestone completion.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring adherence to best practices, design standards, and quality processes.
Experience Required
-
1+ year of relevant experience, preferably in aerospace, UAV, or propulsion-related domains.
Technical Competencies
-
Strong knowledge of propulsion system design, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.

Solid mathematical and scientific fundamentals for modeling and analysis.

Experience with modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or LabVIEW.
