IT Systems Engineer 

Job Context/Purpose

We are looking for an energetic and motivated IT Professional who is excited to support cutting‑edge aerospace and defense programs. In this role, you’ll be a key contributor as well as creator to the smooth, secure, and compliant operation of our facility’s technology ecosystem—empowering engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to do their best work. You’ll handle a wide range of responsibilities, from Tier 1 to Tier 3 support, to maintaining high‑reliability systems, to ensuring our IT environment meets AS9100 and defense‑program standards. IT Infrastructure & Operations (ISO27001/AS9100-Aligned) 

1. Set up and maintain servers, networks, firewalls, endpoints, and storage systems under documented procedures. 

2. Support engineering, manufacturing, and quality systems. 

3. Perform patching, backups, and disaster recovery testing with records. 

4. IT system administration. 

IT Support  

1. Tier 1 (frontline assistance for basic hardware, software, and user issues). 

2. Tier 2 (advanced troubleshooting for system, network, and application‑level incidents). 

3. Tier 3 (deep technical support involving server administration, infrastructure diagnostics, root‑cause analysis, and coordination with specialized vendors for complex or escalated problems). 

Compliance & Security  

1. Maintain IT controls aligned with AS9100/ISO27001. 

2. Enforce access control, authentication, and endpoint protection. 

3. Support audits, configuration management, and incident response. 

Systems & Data Management 

1. Administer engineering tools, PLM repositories, ERP, and collaboration platforms. 

2. Ensure data integrity, traceability, retention, and backups. 

Documentation & Continuous Improvement 

1. Maintain IT procedures, system documentation, and change-logs. 

2. Support infrastructure planning and audit readiness. 

Qualifications & Experience 

Required 

1. Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 

2. Minimum 3 years of enterprise IT experience. 

3. Tier 1-3 IT support experience. 

4. The candidate must possess deep, hands‑on expertise across Windows, Linux, and macOS platforms, with the ability to manage, troubleshoot, and optimize systems in a highly diverse environment of operating systems, specialized engineering applications, secure collaboration tools, and high‑performance computing resources. This includes supporting mixed‑OS workflows, ensuring compatibility across varied toolchains, and maintaining consistent performance, security, and reliability across all platforms. 

5. The candidate must also demonstrate strong hands‑on expertise in managing local servers, secure data‑backup infrastructures, and enterprise‑grade networking systems. This includes administering and optimizing on‑premise server environments, ensuring reliable data protection through structured backup and recovery processes, and maintaining robust network performance across switches, firewalls, DNCP, LAN/WAN/VLANs, and wireless systems. The role requires the ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues, uphold security and availability standards, and support a diverse ecosystem of engineering, operational, and administrative workloads. 

Preferred 

1. AS9100 / aerospace / defense experience. 

2. Familiarity with IT controls. 

3. Relevant IT certifications.
